500 Rai sits firmly at the premium end of Cheow Lan Lake.

That is exactly why checking the room category matters. “Luxury resort” does not automatically mean every room has identical electricity hours.

Swimming and kayaking were more memorable to me than sitting inside the bungalow.
Being able to step off the floating platform and get onto the water gave the lake a completely different scale.
Swimming is common around many raft houses, but follow the resort’s instructions. Life jackets or designated swimming areas may be required.
Wildlife around Khao Sok can include monkeys, hornbills, kingfishers, reptiles, and other tropical species. Wild elephants occur in the wider protected landscape, but I would never choose a package because it promises an elephant sighting.
